Alice Irene Squire of Invermay, SK passed away on October 14, 2019 in Invermay, SK at the age of 93. She was born to Percy and Hazel (nee Spencer) Martin on December 22, 1925 in St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon, SK. They lived on a farm at Wiseton, SK until 1936. They then moved to Invermay and she went to school in Margo.
Alice married Jack Squire on July 23, 1945 in Margo, SK. Together they raised a family of three boys and four girls: Elaine, James, Gerald, Marjorie, Robert, Sharon and Shona. They lived on the farm at Invermay for 61 years.
Alice served as trustee on the school board for many years and helped on the Lodge Auxiliary for a short while. She enjoyed her yard and garden, made many quilts and also enjoyed knitting and baking.
Alice is survived by her daughters Elaine Fidek, Marjorie (Alvin) Sandvold, Sharon (Larry) Wendz and Shona (Alvin) Lingelbach; sons Gerald (Lois) Squire and Wayne Squire; granddaughters Denise (Colin) Redman, Charmaine (James) Serron, Crystal (Kevin) Tower, Tammy (Dave) Foster, Launa (Kevin) Sandvold, Charita (Scott) Lalonde, Jana (Regan) Graham, Danielle (Michael) Lingelbach and Stacey Lingelbach; grandsons Scott (Susan) Fidek, Kerstan (Christi), Jim (Allison) Squire, Kyle (Courtney) Wendz and Alvin Lingelbach as well as 24 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Jack, parents Percy and Hazel, son Jim, son-in-law Bill Fidek, brothers Melvin and Oliver and sister Frances Staszko.
