Alida Winnifred AndersonNovember 4, 1925 - February 15, 2016 Alida Anderson passed away peacefully on February 15, 2016, at the age of 90. She was predeceased by her parents, Jesse and Margaret Mahlum; her loving husband Helge Anderson; sister Luzella Staszczak; brother Milo Mahlum; brothers-in-law, Elmo Anderson, Ed Staszczak and Les Szekely; son-in-law Emmett Hagen; niece Lori Anderson; and nephew Perry Staszczak.
Mom will lovingly be remembered and missed by her daughters, Donna (Dennis) Ross, Denise Hagen, Darlene (Doug) Fedirko, and Delora (Brian) Holsten; grandchildren, Darren, Deidre, Derrick, Jason, Dion, Nathan, Shaun, Steven, Tracy and Cory; 17 great-grandchildren; brother Leo (Pat) Mahlum; sisters, Vangie Szekeky and Margaret (Vic) Miller; sister-in-law Marie Mahlum; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mom was born on November 4, 1925, in Wadena, Sask., and raised on the family farm east of Hendon, Sask. She attended Rotnum School and Wadena High School. She also attended Three Hills Bible School for one year. She married our dad on October 16, 1946, and they were blessed with four daughters. They operated a small store in Fosston for a short time until they bought a farm southeast of Fosston. In 1956 they moved to Fosston to take over the Post Office and resided there until 1976. After a few years in Wynyard they moved to Regina where she lived until her passing. We will miss her greatly.
