Anne Dankow

It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Anne Dankow on August 15, 2022, in Kelvington, SK at the age of 94.

Anne was born on April 30, 1928 to John and Helen Hansuk in Wasel, Alberta.  She went to school in Bellis, Alberta.

Anne and Ellis met in about 1953 in the Hendon/ Fosston area, when she would come to visit her sister Mary.  The couple wed on December 1, 1956 in Edmonton, Alberta.  They lived in Edmonton for a few years where Ellis worked for CW Carry Steel Fabricators and Anne worked at Rexall Drug Store. They moved back in 1958 to the homestead where they farmed for 54 years.

Anne was a member of the Horticulture society for many years where she entered her vegetables and flowers from her garden into many shows.  Anne loved being outside tending to her gardens and all her beautiful flower beds on the farm.  She was a wonderful cook and baker.  She enjoyed preparing big meals for company when they came to visit.  She also loved playing Kaiser, Canasta, or Chinese checkers with friends and family.

In the later years of semi-retirement, Anne and Ellis enjoyed travelling to Europe, Australia/New Zealand, Alaska and two trips to Ukraine. They spent 7 winters down in Arizona and neighbouring states.

She is survived by her husband Ellis of Kelvington, SK and daughter Marie Twarzynski (Mike) of Lanigan, SK.  Anne will also be missed by her grandchildren Meaghan (Brayden) Rommelaere, Shaun (Dakota) Twarzynski (great-grandchildren Kolton & Tanner), Terralyn Korpan (great-grandchildren Mason & Alexis); her sisters Catherine White and Mary Balaski, Sister-in-law Verna Desanko, and brother-in-law John Nykoluk.

She is pre-deceased by her parents John and Helen Hansuk, and their son Patrick Dankow.
