Anne Patrick

Anne Mary Dowhan was born on December 20, 1934, at Stove Creek, Saskatchewan, on the farm.
She married “Bubs” Patrick on June 3, 1954. To this union five children were born: Darcy (Emil), Peggy (Blaine), Brenda (Brian), Impy (Barry) and Jed (Shelley).
She enjoyed many grandchildren, all growing to adulthood, and, more recently, great-grandchildren.
Anne loved to cook for any and all. Her gardening, yard and flowers brought many hours of pleasure to her. (That is, up until Bubs started to interfere). (LOL)
Anne was a “nurturer.” It didn’t matter if it was children or adults, she nurtured.
As a young girl, figure skating was her passion under the guidance of Dr. Warren – freezing toes and fingers and damaging knees on the open ice rink.
As an adult, curling was her sport. In her elderly years, she still loved watching it, whether it was at our rink or on TV.
Hockey, especially when her grandchildren were playing, was a great source of pride and much vocalization about refs being “sight” impaired.
Dancing, music of all genres, and entertaining both in the Lion shows and at the local fair gave her much pleasure and quite a bit of “monkey business”!
Anne was much more than a  wife to Bubs. They were very much business partners. She was involved in every aspect of the farm, from cow milking to grain hauling to bookkeeping. Behind every successful farm there is a great woman. Anne was that woman.
Bubs was Anne’s great love. She missed him and felt a strong need to rejoin him, both for the bickering and to cook “mashed” potatoes again.
Anne was an extremely strong-willed woman and decided she had completed her important life tasks and so has joined her great love.
