Tony Bohaychuk passed away peacefully with family by his side at the age of 94.
Born on March 19, 1922 in Ukraine, Tony immigrated to Canada at the age of eight. The family built a homestead eight miles north of Nut Mountain, where he completed his schooling at Treherne Centre.
With the start of World War II, Tony joined the Canadian Air Force, where he became a Flight Engineer. After the war ended, he returned to the Kelvington area.
Tony married Esther Lang on April 26, 1950. They settled on the family farm and had seven children. They sold the farm and moved into Kelvington, where Tony worked for the Department of Highways as a heavy duty mechanic until the age of 65. Tony and Esther enjoyed a long retirement, spending summers at the cottage outside of Greenwater.
Tony faced some difficult times and overcame many hardships. He was determined and could do whatever he set his mind to. He was extremely hard working, providing everything possible for his family. Tony was caring and loving to those he held close to his heart. He was an avid mechanic and enjoyed the simpler things in life, but what he loved most of all was spending time with family and friends.
Tony was predeceased by his parents, Anna and Karl; wife Esther; sister Petrunela Kozij; brothers, Mike and Joseph; and son-in-law Lorne Anderson.
Tony was loved and will be sincerely missed by his children, Bonnie Bohaychuk, Vickie Bohaychuk, Shelly (Gerald) Chamberland, Hope Anderson, Hedi (Thomas) Liska, Keith Bohaychuk (Beth Macdonald), and Kevin (Heather) Bohaychuk, along with 19 grandchildren, 12 great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
The family would like to thank everybody for all their love and support.
