Brian affectionally known as Barney – Barney Maxx on Facebook.
Brian was born August 4th, 1964 at Wadena Hospital. Youngest of 3 sons born to Tina (Antonia Sokul) and John Maximovich. Brian often spoke of his late Mother, who raised her 3 sons as their father passed away when Brian was 5 years old. He was very dedicated to helping his Mother with her huge gardens and later taking her to Medical appointments when her health failed.
In 2006, Brian and older brother Leonard lost their brother Dale.
Brian was educated in Wynyard School. At the young age of 17 he went to work for CP Rail, where he retired 1 ½ years ago.
Brian enjoyed farming, loved fishing, gardening, riding his Harley and taking in Rodeo’s, Live Concerts, Hockey games,GX94 Radio Bingo and sitting around his firepit.
He had bought an acreage near Kuroki in 2006 from his friend Carmen. If you stopped by and he was home, you most like found him in the summer, cutting grass or in his huge garden and in winter clearing snow with his snow blower. Barney had a green thumb, his gardens were bountiful, his flowers grew beautifully.
He always said he “was growing extra for his niece Dana and nephew Cody, because they lived in the city and didn’t have time or room for a garden.” Brian was very compassionate, and generous. He would certainly give you his shirt off his back. He often spoke about his best friend Ron Bzdel, who passed away in 2013.
He had a sense of humor, he laughed easily. At times he was rather comical.
Brian was predeceased by his parents, John and Tina Maximovich, brother Dale, and best friend Ron Bzdel and many other relatives.
Brian is survived by his son Sheldon, brother Leonard, Niece Dana (River), and Nephew Cody (Danielle).
