It is with great sadness that we announced the passing of Calvin Earl Leepart. Earl was born on October 30, 1933, to Leonard and Mary Leepart. He departed this life on Sunday, December 21, 2014, with his family surrounding him.
Earl was a truck driver, Cat operator, farmer and avid fisherman. He lived his life to the fullest. Over his lifetime, Earl had various jobs: a truck driver for different companies, operating a bombardier for a pipeline in Ontario, plus he worked for many farmers in and around Wiseton and Saskatoon.
Earl was also first mate on the ship SS Canora for a year. He went out in 1957 to work, first as a server then three weeks later he became a deck hand. One day the captain asked him if he would like to learn to become a quarter master, and if he would have stayed, he would have eventually become captain. But, his dad needed him at home to help with seeding. Then in 1958 when seeding was done, Earl left to work on the pipelines.
In 1959, Earl married the love of his life, Agnes Erickson. The two began their life on the farm and it was where they raised their two children.
At this time he did seasonal work for Bob Little driving a Cat from 1974 to 1980 In 1980, he went to work for the Hendon Co-op as a fuel truck driver. Then in 1998, he was forced into semi-retirement after getting injured.
In 2002, Earl and Agnes moved to Kelvington to begin their retirement, which included fishing, camping and spending time with family and firends. Earl sold the house in 2012 and moved into the Kelvington Villa Senior Centre. With his family close, Earl spent his last days in Porcupine Plain Hospital.
He is predeceased by his wife Agnes; father Leonard and mother Mary.
Earl is survived by his daughters, Loretta (Donnie) Hilash and Sheila (Ardel) Skaalrud; three grandchildren, Justin, Jeremy and Jenna. He came from a family of two brothers, Lorne (Nicole) and Darold (Gwen), and three sisters, Nola (Jerry) Hiebert, Eileen Wilkinson and Faye (Don) Peterson. He was also well loved by a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
