David Arthur Iverson was born on January 14, 1970 to Ron and Ardis Iverson and grew up alongside brothers Robert, Lloyd and Michael and younger sister Joanna. At a very early age David took an interest in mechanics, along with his brother Lloyd “helping” Grandpa Iverson fix the farm machinery. Also, at that early age, Grandpa Lloyd let David work with him in his woodworking shop making all sorts of things. David loved it. As he grew up, it became customary to hear someone say, “Oh Dave, could you fix that for me?” When he got older, he went to work at the gold mines. He worked on the big machines. His older brother Rob asked Dave to come to the SeaBee Mine because they desperately needed a mechanic for heavy equipment. A week later the boss was asking Rob, “Why were you hiding this guy?”. He also worked at mines in Yellowknife and Mexico.
When he decided to quit at the mines and come back to Nora, he did repairs on anything neighbours brought his way. He took an interest in making cement and stone tables and many family and friends have one in their backyard. David loved to get a fire going outside, put his polished discer blade on it and cook a super good meal for anyone there. Many happy times were spent around that fire as a family. Two of his anuties, both Maxine and Lorraine, used to come and park their camper in his yard for a week and that was their holiday. Everyone has their own precious memories of Dave. His nieces and nephews had such a special place in his heart. So even though he is no longer here with us, we will always think of big-hearted Dave with a lot of love and fondness.
Dave was predeceased by his father Ron Iverson and niece Hannah Zazula. He is survived by his mother Ardis (Dennis) Chipeur; brother Robert (Stephanie), Brittney, Jocelyn, Colby and Robbie; brother Lloyd (Cathy), Andrea, Chrissy and Meaghan; brother Michael (Gloria) and Ryan; sister Joanna (Richard), Danielle, Tabitha, Eliisha, Lydia and Adam; great nieces Callie and Brea and grandmother Alice Hanson.
