Dennis was born in Rose Valley, SK to parents George Muntain and Olga Sawchuk. He grew up in the Fosston and Wadena, SK areas. Although he briefly resided in B.C., he lived the majority of his adult life in Regina, SK.
Dennis worked as barber for almost 15 years and later, took on work as a handyman. He was predeceased by his father George, mother Olga, brother Ron and infant brother Joseph. He is
survived by his daughter Sherry Little (Dale Seiferling) and son Greg Little. Dennis enjoyed nature –especially fishing at Fishing, Barrier and Long Lakes. He was a very strong swimmer and once saved a man’s life at Regina Beach. As a young barber, he was a meticulous dresser, polishing his shoes to a mirror finish daily.
Unfortunately, his life grew more difficult in his mid-20’s due to mental health challenges. As Dennis mellowed with age, he developed multiple physical health issues. In October 2021,
he was diagnosed with metastatic ocular melanoma. He tackled the final 18 months of his life with practicality and gratitude.
He wanted no funeral, but did want to say “thank you for being part of my life and it was good knowing you” to all people who crossed his path in his 77 years. A special thank you to medical specialists and care staff who provided treatment and support in the final months of Dennis’ life.
Memorial donations in Dennis’ memory can be made to the Ducks Unlimited Canada or the Canadian Mental Health Association. Dennis will be buried in Wadena at a private family service. Arrangements entrusted to Tompkins Funeral Home.
