In Loving Memory of
Dietrich “Dick” Peter Heppner was born to Bernhard and Katherina Heppner in Teddington, Saskatchewan on October 28, 1932 and was raised on a farm in Torch River where he spent all his school years. As an adult, he left the farm to work and landed in Wadena Saskatchewan in the 60’s, where he worked for Walden Farms for many years until his retirement. After leaving the farm, Dick lived with his close friend Merle Anderson, then moved to a low rental in Wadena then to Waneeda Park Lodge and ultimately to Pleasant View Care Home where he passed.
Dick was the fourth youngest of twelve children. He was pre-deceased by a baby brother in 1931, his father Bernhard in 1942, mother Katherina in 1976, his sister Katherina in 1995, brothers Dave and Ben in 2001, John in 2006, Margaret and Mary in 2009 and George in 2013 and four nephews. He is survived by three sisters – Gerti, Anna and Linda and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dick died peacefully in nursing care on December 13, 2018 while being cared for and loved by good friends Milton, Karen, Kim and Laura Walden. Thank-you to his friends for being there for him.
In keeping with Dick's wishes, there will be no formal funeral service.
