Duane Stephen Horbach

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Duane Stephan Horbach, who left us too soon on March 13, 2025. Born at Preeceville Union Hospital on November 27, 1960, Duane was the cherished son of Stephan and Frances Horbach, who predeceased him. He is survived by his beloved brother, Eugene, his adored nephew, Matthew, who brought immense joy to his life, and his special friend of many years Brenda.

Duane went to school at Hazel Dell Shafesbury School and Sturgis Composite High School. Following his education, he pursued a career as a heavy-duty equipment operator and had a remarkable talent for mechanics, demonstrating his dedication and skill throughout his working life.

A true outdoorsman at heart, Duane's passion for life shone through in his love for hunting, snowmobiling, and a wide array of sports. He was an avid participant in curling, fastball, bowling, and hockey. As a devoted fan of the Edmonton Oilers, Duane passionately cheered his team on. His love for 60’s and 70’s muscle cars was just one of the many hobbies that defined his vibrant personality.

Duane is also predeceased by his grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins. He leaves behind an extended family of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends, all of whom will deeply miss his unwavering support and kindness. Duane was always there for others, offering a listening ear or a helping hand, making a lasting impact on the lives he touched.

Duane's spirit and enthusiasm will forever remain in our hearts. As we gather to mourn his loss, we also celebrate his life, filled with laughter, adventures, and love. Rest in peace, Duane. You will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing you.
