Ellta Margaret Kuc, aged 93, originally from St. Front, passed away on March 18, 2016, at Newmarket Place,Tisdale, in the presence of her daughters, Lorraine and Connie.
Ellta was born in Regina on November 28, 1922, to Marjorie Clark and Dorsey Jennett.
Ellta was capable from a very early age, learning to bake bread by age 11 and planting the garden. She loved riding horses and playing baseball. She expressed her creativity through her sewing and painting, with her love of bright, intense colors.
She started school in Saskatoon, then attended schools in Ruthilda and Plenty. After the family moved to Pleasantdale, she attended Kew Garden School; then when the family moved to St. Front, she attended Sigstad and St. Raymond Schools.
In 1941, Ellta married the love of her life, Michael Kuc. They lived on their farm in the St. Front area for 63 years, raising their five daughters. Ellta was a versatile, capable wife and mother. She could be found hauling grain with the grain truck, cooking, gardening, sewing a wedding dress, painting the house or caring for her girls or grandchildren.
Ellta was predeceased by her husband Michael (2013); daughter Leila Swahn (2015); grandson Kleon Swahn (2014); her mother Marjorie McMillan; step-father Peter McMillan; and brothers, Lawrence and Orville Jennett,
She is survived by daughters, Lorraine Park, Phyllis (Doug) Ralph, Connie (Tom) Black, Kathy (Clayton) Loyns; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great, great-grandchildren.
Ellta will be fondly remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, homemaker, gardener, seamstress and painter. She was a member of the Eastern Star.
