Ethel Beckley was born Ethel Scheller on December 1, 1947 in Preeceville, SK.  She took all of her schooling in Lintlaw, SK.  In 1966 she moved to Kelvington and worked at the Hotel Café. In August 1967 she married Stanley  Polachek and had 2 children – Kimberly (1968) and Jonathan (1970).  Stanley passed away in August 1982.

Ethel worked at Phil & Sons Grocery for 5 years and Bills Bakery for two years. She then retired from the work force.

In 1991, Ethel married Victor Beckley.  Ethel & Vic spent many years traveling in Western Canada and parts of the United States visiting friends and family.   Vic passed away in 2005.

Ethel kept busy in her home with gardening, hobbies that included cross stitching and cooking and baking, sharing her Ethel Chicken and Ethel Buns with us. But her favorite thing to do was spend many hours playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. Many crafts and were made at her table and she soundly defeated us all in water fights in her back yard.  Ethel was so proud of their school awards, dance competitions, graduations and career milestones.

In 2016, Ethel moved from her home into an apartment in the Kelvington Manor where she enjoyed visits from her new neighbors.

Ethel passed away on April 21, 2018 after a courageous battle against cancer.  She is pre-deceased by her Father Ernest Scheller; Mother Georgina Robinson; husband Stanley Polachek and husband Victor Beckley.  She is greatly missed by her children Kim (Allan) and Jon (Kerri), Grandchildren Jesse (Chantele), Bret, Karli & Madison; Great Grandchildren Nicky, James and Kato.
