Eve Delle Hrenyk, age 94, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2023 surrounded by two of her loving daughters at Crossville, Tennessee. She was born on March 30, 1929 in Gronlid, SK to Aksenty and Petronella Shapitka. Throughout her life Eve was known for her hospitality, kindness, growing massive vegetable and floral gardens, and her unwavering faith in God. After many winters travelling to the warmer climate of Florida, Eve emigrated there in 2016.
Eve married Joseph Hrenyk on April 2, 1951 and was a devoted wife until Joe’s passing in 2011. She is survived by three daughters; Loretta Spenceley (Paul), Sandra Hanington, and Crystal Arnold (Bill), and two granddaughters, Sydney and Lindsey Girvan; a foster son Donald Bear; a sister Esther Shortt and a brother Stanley Shapitka (Linda). Eve is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Eve was predeceased by her parents, her husband Joseph, and three brothers and three sisters.
Her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends, who will remember her for her love and generousity. Though she may no longer be with us in person, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved and inspired.
A Celebration of Life will be held in honour of Eve Hrenyk on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Quill Lake Seventh Day Adventist Church (Daphne Road, Quill Lake SK).
Lunch and sharing of memories to follow at the New Horizons Centre (126 Main St. Watson, SK) at 12:30 PM.
