In Loving Memory of

Foster Vansdal

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

It is with tremendous sadness we announce the passing of Foster Vansdal.

Foster Ean Vansdal was born on June 17, 1976 in Kelvington, SK to Gary and Eileen Vansdal. He was the youngest of four children. Foster grew up in Lintlaw, SK and, for a few years, lived and worked in Alberta but eventually moved back to his family home.

Foster, also known as Fozzy, Fozzy Bear, Forbes, Beddos and Uncle Buster, had a kind heart and an old soul, always putting everyone else first before himself just to ensure everyone was happy. Nothing ever got him upset or angry, except when the Riders were losing!

Foster loved all kinds of sports, especially hockey, baseball, and volleyball which he excelled at in his younger years. He made many lifelong friends through sports and his school days. He was so happy to have reconnected with some of his friends and classmates at the Lintlaw Reunion.

Foster was always up for a good game of cards, crib, poker, pool, or darts. Back in the day he was a great organizer of the famous street hockey games that were played on Main Street in Lintlaw. He was a very proud member of the Lintlaw Mud Bog Association acting as President and working with a great young bunch of Lintlaw citizens.

Foster had a great love of music, played the drums and was teaching himself to play guitar. He was a coin collector and spent many hours studying their history and value. The Saskatchewan Roughriders and Pittsburgh Penguins were his teams to cheer for.

Family was everything to Foster and his nephews meant the world to him. Our hearts are broken, and we will miss him dearly.

Foster is survived by his sister Leanne (Terry) Shulko and children Michael (Jackie), Rowyn and Remi and Tynell (Stephanie); sister-in-law Sarrah and children Kaden and Jaxson; nephews Jett and Bo and their mother Laurel as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Gary and Eileen, brothers Jeff and Joey and grandparents Floyd and Nora Vansdal and Jim and Violet Weikle.
