Hazel Strome

Hazel was born on September 24, 1923 to Elmer and Annie Rupert.  She was the youngest of 7 children.  Hazel grew up on the family farm around Englefield, SK until she married Walter Strome on October 30, 1947.

Walter and Hazel farmed around Quill Lake, SK for many years.  In 1958, the couple decided to move to town.  Hazel left Quill Lake in later years, moving to Saskatoon, SK.

Walter and Hazel had four children: Louise, Diane, Robert, and a baby boy who died at birth.

Hazel is predeceased by her parents, all her siblings, and her husband Walter.  Hazel is survived by her 3 children Louise Hajlasz, Diane Thurmeier (Ron), and Robert Strome (Patti).  Also left to mourn her are her 4 grandchildren Yvonne, Michael, Jennifer Hajlasz and Claire Strome, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In Hazel’s last 5 years, she has been living at Stensrud Lodge in Saskatoon where she received excellent care.  She passed peacefully on August 8, 2022.  She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
