November 17, 1932 - January 21, 2016 Janet "Jenny" McDonald Sunderland was born on November 17,1932, to Alex and Jessie McDonald in Caldercruix, Scotland, the youngest of four children. She passed away on January 21, 2016, peacefully with family by her side. Jenny grew up in Caldercruix. Upon finishing school she took a nursing course. At the age of 16 years, she and her folks made a trip to Canada to visit her aunt and uncle. While in Canada she met " the love of her life" as he rode into her cousin's yard on a tall black horse!John and Jenny continued their friendship through letters across the Atlantic Ocean until John wrote to ask her parents' permission to ask Jenny to marry him. Six months after Jenny returned to Canada, John and Jenny were married in Humboldt, Sask. They were married almost 60 years when John passed away. To this union five children were born: Sharon (Gilles) Montes, Nona (Dean) Stewart, Lyle (fiancAC.e Christine), Lynn (Rod) LeCuyer, and Carol (Dean) Melnychuk. She has 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. John's passing was a great loss to Jenny! She continued on with the help of family, loyal friends, neighbours, phone calls, coffee friends, trips to town and her faithful dog "Sport."Her huge heart, gentle nature, sense of humour, generosity and love of life left everyone she met better off as a result of their time spent together. The choice that Jenny made early in life to serve God continued to be very dear to her till the end. Jenny was predeceased by her parents, her husband John, daughter-in-law Wilhelmina , and many other close relatives.
