Janice Shirley Madarash

Janice, daughter of Cliff and Jessie Smith, was born May 13, 1939 in Minatonas, Manitoba. She passed peacefully on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at Wadena Hospital Long Term Care.

Janice married Ernie Madarash on July 16, 1960. In 1962 they moved to Kuroki and started their family. Janice worked at the Kuroki Credit Union for many years. She also enjoyed curling, camping and snowmobiling with family and friends.

Janice moved to Wadena after Ernie’s passing, where she was closer to her much loved and treasured grandchildren.

Janice was a member of the Health Care Auxiliary, Meals on Wheels, and the Seniors Exercise Group. Always available to lend a helping hand to friends, family and community.

Janice loved to play cards, make puzzles, do Sudoku’s, eat Chinese and spend time with family.

Janice was predeceased by her parents Cliff and Jessie; husband Ernie; brothers Donald and Bill; and sister Betty.

She is lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her daughter Kathy (Harley); son Michael (Ramona); grandchildren Dustin and Kailey (Roy); and great grand pup Rory.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date
