Jennie Johnson was born to Wojeck and Maria Krygowski in Poland. Later, her parents and siblings moved to Canada, settling in the Hendon district where she attended school
Jennie married Eric Johnson in Wadena and farmed south of Hendon. To this union two children were born, Edward and Mary. The family farmed, raised cattle and resided on the farm until Eric's passing in 1966.
Besides the farming chores, Jennie had a joy of cooking, bingo, knitting, sewing and going to church. She had a passionate love for her children and grandchildren and participated in the Hendon Ladies' Community Club.
Jennie began working as head cook at the Weneeda Park Lodge and delighted many with her gourmet cooking. She retired in 1988.
In her later years, Jennie lived at the lodge for a few years although she loved her home and gardening. She then resided at Pleasant View Care Home.
Jennie was predeceased by her parents, Wojeck and Maria; her son Edward; brother Frank (Joyce) and their son David; and sister-in-law Orillie (Pete) and their son Harley.
Jennie is survived by her daughter Mary Kanak and her family: Debbie Marrisen and her children, Kelly (Scott) (and children, Lexi & Lily) and Jaimie; Connie (Roy) Rustad and children, Katherine, Ryan, Sarah, John and Abigail; Lisa Vataminiuk and children, Levi, Stephany, Raquel, Valerie and Vanessa. She is also surrived by brothers, Walter (Patsy) Krygowski and Pete (late Orillie) Kryg and sister Stella Kryzanowski.
