Jim Andrew Hankewich was born on July 27, 1960 to Paul and Jenny Hankewich at the Rose Valley Hospital. He was raised on a farm North East of Quill Lake, SK and attended school in Rose Valley, SK. As a young man he played many sports, but his main passion was basketball and he was really good too as he has many trophies and metals on our wall. After graduation, Jim left the farm and got a job working with Coca-Cola in Regina, SK. There is where he met his future wife, Bonnie, on a blind date. Jim and Bonnie got married on July 30, 1988 in Regina, SK. Jim and Bonnie were truly blessed with two children: Todd and Kerri-Lynn. Jim loved to tickle them just to hear them laugh. He also liked to do all sorts of special things with them, he loved and adored both his children very much.
Jim had a passion for wood working. He made many wood cabinets for neighbors, friends and even his own family. He sure loved it and took great pride in his work. He loved the summers because he quite enjoyed barbecuing and having wiener roasts. He also could not wait for winter to come because that meant hunting season would be opening up and shortly after he would get to go ice fishing. People would tease Jim and say, “so you want to get the BIG one,” but he would always tell them “no I want to leave that for my son.”
Left to mourn are his loving wife Bonnie of Quill Lake; son Todd (Brittany), daughter Kerri-Lynn (Dion) and one cherished granddaughter Avery. He is also survived by his two brothers Michael (Arlene) and Daniel (Christel), his two sisters Cathy (Walter) and Beverly (Edward) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Paul and Jenny Hankewich.
