John Sucholotoky was born on June 16, 1924, the third child of Fred and Bella Sucholotoky in the Insinger area. John received hismarried on November 4, 1956 and settled on the family farm.
John was also an active member of the Polowyk's Church and a charter Sheho Lions member. John had a passion for his farm, his cattle, horses, watching his crops grow, and playing cards. He helped his neighbours, family and friends in any possible way and would have given the shirt off his back to help someone in need. He very much enjoyed a visit over a cup of coffee or a meal.
His pride and joy was watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up and make special visits. John, along with Elsie, hosted many Ukrainian Christmas and Easter celebrations. John worked hard all his life and was a caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. In 2001, John and Elsie purchased a home in Foam Lake and began enjoying retirement. Due to his failing health, John became a resident of the Foam Lake Jubilee Home on May 13, 2011.
He leaves to celebrate and rejoice in his memory his loving wife of 57 years of marriage, Elsie; his children Bev (Marlowe) Abtosway, Earl Sucholotoky, and Sharon (Kevin)aWhite; his grandchildren Christopher (Jessica)aAbtosway, Aleshia Abtosway, Chastidy (Cory)aFleischhacker, Charmaine White (Les Olafson), Tyson White (Becky Grant), and Kimberlin White; his great grandchildren Sterling, Leon and Owen Abtosway, Reece and Jaxon Fleischhacker, Addison and Rhett Olafson, and Ava White; along with his sisters Mary Woroshelo and Effie (Nick) Penteluke.
John was predeceased by his infant daughter Virginia in 1957; parents Fred (1964) and Bella (1997); sisters Ann (2011), Nettie (1992), Sylvia (2013) and brother Billy (1968).
