Kenneth John George Prince

October 1, 1955 — March 21, 2025

Kelvington

Kenneth was born to Earl and Leila (Pringle) Prince on October 1, 1955, in Kelvington, Saskatchewan. He was one of eleven children. Ken passed from this life on March 21, 2025.

Ken is survived by his loving wife, Veronica, and two stepsons (sons of his heart) who meant the world to him—Jordan and Justin (Jessie Woods) Wilton. He would do anything for these three people.

He is also survived by his siblings: Pat (Valerie) Prince, Carey (Robert) Thordarson, James Prince, Leticia (Francis) Tremblay, Heather (Larry) Pottle, and Bertha (Ken) Wozniczka, along with many, many nieces and nephews.

Ken was predeceased by his parents, Earl and Leila; his brothers, Timothy and Robert; and his sisters, Lois and Iva.

Ken’s motto was: Work hard, party harder, and love furiously. His family and friends would all agree that he did all three in true Malack style.

Ken found love later in life when he met Veronica. He always said, "I love you—that’s why I married you," to her. If Jordan or Justin needed anything, Ken was always there with a helping hand. He was incredibly proud of Jordan and loved seeing him create his artwork—they would often discuss the meaning behind Jordan’s paintings. With Justin, Ken shared a love of machines and carpentry. Justin’s passion for building and creating things with purpose always sparked engaging conversations between them.

Ken was a jack of all trades—a little bit of carpentry, a little bit of road work—but his true calling was running a crusher, which he described as “making big rocks smaller” for road construction. For the past 13 years, he worked for Venture Construction out of Martensville, where he spent ten days working and four days off doing the things he loved.

In his downtime, Ken enjoyed bowling, golfing, and, for the past five years, relaxing at his campsite at Lady Lake Regional Park. Around the nightly campfire, with a few beers in hand, Ken would share countless stories about his work and family. Everyone was always welcome at his fire.

Ken also spent many years coaching with the NorthSask 5 Pin Bowlers Association, forming lasting friendships along the way. Once a year, he, Veronica, and the boys would take their camper to Clearwater Lake Regional Park to spend a week with Veronica’s aunts and uncles—who got a kick out of calling Ken “nephew” even though he was older than most of them!

Family was incredibly important to Ken, and he valued the time he spent with them—whether it was a round of golf and a visit with Bert, Heather, and family at Crystal Lake Golf Course, catch-up calls from Jim, or stopping by his nephew Garth (Lannette) Derbyshire’s place for a visit and a beer. He never missed a birthday greeting on Facebook, usually posting a simple “Have a good one” instead of “Happy birthday.”

Ken was taken from us far too soon after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer that metastasized to his lungs and liver. His final thoughts were of his wife and sons—worrying about how they would manage life without him.

“Malack and his Shedia yuck Tom gi toe”—his signature sign-off when he was ready to head home—will live on in our memories and our hearts.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Ken at a later date.
