It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lawrence Oliver Neapetung on November 14, 2024, in Edmonton, Alberta, at the age of 46. Lawrence was a devoted father, cherished friend, and passionate outdoor enthusiast who made a lasting impact on the lives of all who knew him.
Born with an innate love for nature, Lawrence thrived in the great outdoors. Whether he was hunting in the crisp morning air, camping under the stars, or nurturing his cherished garden, he found fulfillment in every season. Over the years, Fishing Lake became a beloved family destination, a place where countless memories were made, and laughter echoed through the trees.
His children were his pride and joy—his world revolved around them. Lawrence was fiercely protective, instilling in them the values of strength, resilience, and kindness. He took great care in dressing to the nines and ensured his children felt the same pride in their appearance, teaching them the importance of self-respect and confidence.
Lawrence had an extraordinary gift for friendship. He was always there when you needed a listening ear or a helping hand. His generous spirit and unwavering support made him a pillar in the lives of many, and his loyalty was unmatched.
Known for his headstrong nature, Lawrence approached life with passion and conviction. He embraced every challenge with determination and a smile, inspiring others to do the same.
Lawrence Oliver Neapetung leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and adventure that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him.
Lawrence is survived by his father Ron Smoke (Leslie); mother Mavis Janvier (Henry); brothers Adam Neapetung, Eric Janvier, Brent Quewezance, and Preston Smoke; sisters Michelle Janvier, Danielle Janvier, Kyla Quewezance, Sarae Quewezance, Danielle Quewezance, and Jessica Smoke; the mother of his children Destiny Anaskan; children Clayton Anaskan, Mahikan Anaskan, Kasheri Anaskan, Trinity Anaskan, Aurora Anaskan, and Dakota; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lawrence is predeceased by her paternal grandparents Vera Smoke and George Nippi; maternal grandparents James and Rose Neapetung; sister Melanie Neapetung and baby son Legacy Anaskan.
