Leila Villetta (Kuc) Swahn was born on April 30, 1941, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She was the oldest of five daughters born to Michael and Ellta Kuc. Her sisters are Lorraine, Phyllis, Connie and Kathy. Leila graduated as a registered nurse in Prince Albert in 1964. She was Director of Nursing at Rose Valley Hospital for 25 years and was involved in the development of the integrated care facility. She then continued throughout her lifetime her passion for caring and helping others, working many northern community posts. Leila married Dennis Swahn on August 29, 1966, and had three children: Gwenda Lee (Felix), Broc and Chance; Villetta (Phil), Leticia, Danielle, Justin and Kohl; and Kleon (Jamie), Braden, Kiana and Joshua. In her retirement years, she lived in Rose Valley and continued to stay involved with the health and wellness of others. Leila will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
