Loraine was born on May 24, 1933, to Anton and Josie Haug on the family farm south of Layco, where her brother Murray still resides. She had an older sister Norma and a younger brother Murray.Loraine attended Echo Lake School for grades 1 to 8. After school she worked at the store in Layco for Alden and Helen Nelson.On November 17, 1953, she married Stanley Romanyshen in the Foam Lake United Church. They started farming 6 miles north and 4 miles east of Foam Lake. In October 1958 a daughter was born. They continued to farm until Stanley’s passing in 1993.In 1995, Loraine moved to Foam Lake, where she continued to reside until February of this year. Loraine passed away peacefully on August 31 at the Pleasant View Care Home in Wadena.She was predeceased by her parents, Josie and Anton, husband Stanley and sister Norma.Left to mourn are her daughter and husband, Donnalee and Rod; grandsons, Riley and wife Theresa; great-granddaughters, Macy and Farrah; grandson Dustin and partner Nicole Griffin; her brother Murray Howe; sister-in-law Esther Romanyshen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
