It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lorence Jacob Weinhandl on June 13, 2022, in the Kelvindell Lodge at the age of 95.
Lorence was born December 12, 1926, to Charlie & Alvina Weinhandl on the family farm, 6 miles north of Lintlaw. After the sudden death of his father in 1942, Lorence took over farming and farmed for 53 years.
In 1951, he met Mildred Parry, the love of his life, and they were married on April 1, 1955, in the Lintlaw United Church. To this union, 4 children were born: Charles, Keith, Elaine & Marlene. He retired from farming in 1994, and the couple moved into Lintlaw, SK.
Unfortunately, due to his health, Lorence ended up in the Kelvington hospital on April 24, 2022. It was determined that his needs were too high to return home, and on May 27th, 2022, he moved into the Kelvindell Lodge; Lorence passed away only a couple weeks later.
Lorence enjoyed farming, hunting, gardening, bookkeeping, curling, playing cards, shuffleboard & pool. He also loved to socialize with friends and family alike. He enjoyed being a member of the Lintlaw Golden Glory club, the Lintlaw Lions club and the Wadena Farmers Market. He will be fondly remembered and missed by both the vendors and the patrons attending Farmers Markets throughout the years.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife Mildred of 67 years, Charles (Sandra), Keith, Elaine (Lorne) Melsted, Marlene (Tim) Chodak, 10 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren, sister-in-law Ruth and many nieces & nephews.
He was predeceased by his Father & Mother, Brothers George & Henry, Sister-in-law Marian and Great-Grandson Charles McIntyre.
He will be dearly missed & be forever remembered in our hearts.
