Lyle William Nelson

Lyle William Nelson, 82, of Wadena, SK died on December 27, 2024. Lyle, son of George and Cora, passed away in the Pleasant View Care Home in Wadena after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He is survived by his wife, Iris, his daughter, Cherise, his son Greg (Falen), and two grandchildren, Gavin and Grady, his brother, Lloyd, his sisters, Loreylye and Lois, and numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his parents,

Lyle grew up on the family farm near Hendon, SK. He completed grade 8 at the Victoria Park school in Hendon and then took up farming. He also worked away from home doing construction at Fort McMurray, AB and Thompson, MB, as well as in Saskatchewan. While a young man he played ball, curled and hunted deer and moose. 

On November 10, 1973 Lyle and Iris were married. They farmed near Hendon and later took over George and Cora’s land and lived at there for many years raising their two children. When they retired, they moved to Wadena, where Lyle lived until his passing.

At time of Fellowship and refreshments will take place at the Hendon Hall after the graveside service.
