It is with heavy hearts for the family of Margaret, announcing her passing on September 3/2024, at the age of 83.
Margaret was born in Wadena, SK on April 16/1941 to James & Mae Mears (Warnier). She will be remembered by her loving husband of 64 years, Edward. Children Sandra, Shelley (Brent), Sharon (Keith), Stanley (Juanita) & Stacey (Dale). Grandchildren Noah, Logan, Daniel, Laura, Qwin, Gerald, Tyler, Sean, Jonathan, Chanda, Stephanie, Cassondra, James & Chantel, plus 24 Great Grandchildren. Margaret was predeceased by her parents along with her brothers Bill, Joe, Charley, Tommy, Fred, Bob and Sisters Shirley and Sadie and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Margaret married Edward on June 14/1960. She moved from the family farm in Clair, SK where she resided in Wadena, SK until they ventured to Thompson, MB. Then they moved back to Wadena. In 1971 they moved to Yorkton, SK, where she lived for 33 years. Margaret was the head cook at Mr. Mikes after the closing of Mr. Mikes; she cooked at the Holiday Inn. She eventually started work in 1986 at the Yorkton Regional Hospital as a head cook. Then in 1987 she decided she wanted a career change and moved to the Yorkton District Nursing Home as a Special Care Aide. She remained there until her retirement in 2004. From there she started a business in Wadena with her Son and Wife operating the Video Rental Business. After closing she moved to Saskatoon, deciding city life wasn’t for her moving back to Wadena and enjoyed her days with her Grandkids and Great-Grandkids. She eventually moved to Humboldt, SK. As her health was declining in 2022 she moved to her final place at Providence Place in Daysland, AB where her daughter cared for her. She passed away peacefully at the Daysland Hospital with her by her side and family.
Margaret always celebrated her birthday on April 15 until she retired and found out she was born on April 16. Margaret enjoyed Bingo in her younger days, the luckiest person in the hall. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. There was never a shortage of dishrags. She also loved to have flower pots all around at every place she lived. She loved to be outdoors in the summer with her kids and grandkids. She enjoyed camping with her sister and family at Barrier Lake. Whilst they played canasta and never too scared to try out all those water sports. She loved playing crib, and can count those hands faster than you can deal. She spent a lot of her days watching CNN News. When it was time for hockey season she was there in her chair to cheer on her Calgary Flames, keeping all the stats of the players. She could tell you every player on the team. She always had something to say or share. She can talk your ear off and you would be lucky to get a word in otherwise. Her sense of humor will be missed.
We will miss you Mom. You will be missed by all, whose hearts you have touched.
