Marlene Janice Hoffman (Berezowski) was born 22 March 1950, to Mary (nee Struss) and Peter Berezowski. Marlene was the youngest of seven children. She was born in Foam Lake and grew up south of Sheho.
Marlene married Bill Hoffman October 31, 1967. They lived in Regina until they received a call "Come home, it is time to prepare for seeding", at which time they moved to the family farm 1 mile north of Sheho.
Roxanne Carrie was born March 27, 1969, followed closely by Gordon Billy April 27, 1970. Marlene was diagnosed at this time with M.S.
When the kids were young the family did lots of travelling, camping and fishing. Marlene loved cooking, gardening and cross-stitching.
Family and church always came first with Marlene. Gordon married Angela Kokoski in 2000. That fall Marlene and Billy moved to Sheho and Gordon and Angela moved to the family farm. Marlene enjoyed living in Sheho, sitting on their front porch, drinking coffee, her phone always close at hand. Her first grandchild Marshal Cole Faye arrived April 15, 2000. Marlene spent many happy hours with him. Carlee Taylor Faye came next on September 9, 2002. Paintin finernails, baking, crafting and new hairdos were activities they enjoyed together. Wyatt Kade was born March 10, 2004 and was her third grandchild. He enjoyed pushing Grandma's wheelchair. She always looked forward to watching her grandkids Ukrainian dance and enjoyed thier annual week of swimming lessons. By this time she had started using a wheelchair, but could still walk with a walker.
In 2006 Marlene began receiving assistance from home care. At first it was a struggle to accept help, but in a short time they became her family. In 2008 Marlene fell and broke her wrist, requiring her to get care. At that time she moved to the Foam Lake Jubilee Nursing Home, where she resided until her passing on August 10, 2015
