Marvin Glen Lindbloom of Naicam, Sask., passed away in his home on May 23, 2016, at the age of 65.
Marvin was born on September 23, 1950, in Watson, Sask., to Ford and Hazel (nAC.e Evans) Lindbloom. He grew up on the family farm east of Naicam. Marvin attended Lewis Lake School until its closing; then, Naicam School.
Marvin moved to British Columbia in 1972, where he met and married Vera Newcomb on November 2, 1974. In 1976 they moved to Naicam, built a home and began raising their children.
Marvin farmed until 1986, when he started his own contracting business. The company continued to grow and flourish, with the addition of the Curtis Construction Ltd. partnership.
Marvin was involved in many community activities. Whether it be the building of the rink, senior hockey, or giving a donation, he was always an enthusiastic participant.
In 1996, Marvin met Gaylene Kowalski (nAC.e Selinger). They married on June 17, 2004. They enjoyed spending summers at Kipabiskau Lake and winters in Arizona.
Marvin was predeceased by his parents, Ford and Hazel Lindbloom.
He is survived by his wife Gaylene Lindbloom; his daughter Renae (Clay) Grigo and their children, Ryley, Marisa, and Logan; his son Michael (Erin) Lindbloom and their children, Jace and Shiloh; his step-daughters, Karen (Cale) Maynard; Krista (Drew) Kendel and their children Julia and Graham; Kelsey (Dylan) Longmoore and their children, Porter and Jonah; Jacquie Kowalski; his siblings, Elaine Millions, Robin Lindbloom, Donna (Kim) Derkatz, and Duane (Angie) Lindbloom; and by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
