Mary Monych

In keeping with Mary's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held.

It is with fond memories and heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of Mary Monych, 81 years, of Tuffnell, SK at the Yorkton Regional Health Center on Sunday, September 6, 2020.  Mary was born on November 17, 1938 in the Parkerview District to Mike and Palagia (Iwanylo) Zastawney.

Mary attended White Creek School and Foam Lake Composite High School.

On July 13, 1958 Mary married Orest Monych. Mary and Orest lived and worked in Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, Swift Current and Regina, Saskatchewan prior to moving to the Tuffnell area in 1974, where they farmed until retirement.

If you ever had the opportunity to visit Mary and Orest on the farm, it was clearly obvious how much family and friends meant to them and how much they meant to all of us by all the photos that covered the walls and spaces in their home.

Mary was predeceased by her parents Mike and Palagia, brothers Harry and John, husband Orest, brothers-in-law Walter Monych, John Bulych and Ernie Romaniuk and sister-in-law Glenis Zastawny.

Mary will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Anne Bulych of Foam Lake, SK and Olga Romaniuk of Yorkton, SK; brother Steve and sister-in-law Edie Zastawny of Beaconia, MB, sister-in-law Shirley Monych of Saanichton, BC as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's name may be made to a local charity of one's choice.
