In Loving Memory of

Mary Patterson

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mary “Mamie” Patterson, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and very special person, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 15, 2020 at the Echo Lodge in Fort Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan.

Mary was born at home at Sec. 10, Tp. 25, Rge. 14, W2nd on March 28, 1922 to parents Thomas and Florence (nee Leach) Bordass, who immigrated from England after the end of the First World War.

Mary loved looking after her two granddaughters while they were growing up, then also enjoyed seeing them both marry and have children of their own.

Mary enjoyed researching her family tree, with the help of a researcher in England. She was also an avid coin and stamp collector. She knitted various items most of her life until arthritis stopped her in her 90’s. A few of her hobbies were watching birds and growing a garden and amazing flowers. Mary also enjoyed music by Don Messer, Tommy Hunter and others of that generation.

In earlier times, Mary was a member of the Leross Goodtimers (a senior citizens centre) where she enjoyed playing cards, shuffleboard and doing jigsaw puzzles. Jigsaw puzzles were something she enjoyed doing at Echo Lodge right up until the end.

Mary was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Florence, her husband Roy, baby son Gary and brothers William and Gordon.

Mary is survived by her children Brian (Marianne) and family, Melissa (Ryan) Banbury, Griffin, Sawyer; Raelynn (Josh) Olinik, Sasha, Alex; Nancy Patterson; Barbara (Gary) Badiuk and Terry Patterson. Also, her sister Eva Playfair, brother Malcolm (Gloria) Bordass and numerous nieces and nephews.
