Maurine was born on August 29, 1929 in Gunda Matthews Nurses' House in Naicam SK. Maurine was the seventh child born to Carl and Carla Christianson. Maurine grew up on the family farm just outside of Naicam.
Maurine had a passion for education; she graduated from Zion Collegiate in Prince Albert and then attended Teachers' College in Saskatoon SK. Her first teaching posi-tion was at Natika School. It was during this time that Maurine met the love of her life, Clarence.
On August 18, 1951, Maurine and Clarence were united in marriage. The couple re-sided in LeRoy SK until 1954 when Clarence joined the army. It was at this time they moved to Victoria BC. While in Victoria the couple became a family when daughter Sandra was born. In 1957 they relocated to Brandon MB. During their time in Bran-don, the family was blessed by the arrival of daughters Colleen and Shawna.
While in Brandon MB, Maurine furthered her education and on Saturday, May 16, 1970 she graduated from Brandon University with two degrees. Maurine continued in her teaching career, teaching students between Grades 1 to 7. Maurine retired from teaching in 1986.
Maurine loved to spend time on their acreage lovingly called "The Ranch". Often in the summertime she could be found spending countless hours picking berries, shelling peas and making apple pies.
In 2003 Maurine and Clarence moved to Naicam SK to be closer to their sisters and brothers. Maurine enjoyed having family and friends drop by for coffee or tea and a visit.
Maurine's greatest pride was her 3 daughters. They blessed her with 8 precious grand-children and 4 great grandchildren, all of whom she greatly loved and spent as much time with as possible.
Maurine loved her Savior with all of her heart and whom she is now rejoicing with.
Maurine will be sadly missed and fondly remembered for her love of life, loving spirit, friendship and the wonderful memories made with family and friends.
Maurine's memory will forever live in our hearts.
