Muriel Edna Donald was born on March 25, 1919 at Wadena; third child of Alexander (Sandy) and Catherine (Kate) Donald.
She passed away on October 7, 2017. Muriel grew up on the family farm in the Meadow Bank district. She attended school at Duck Creek and later High School in Kelvington. Muriel then worked at the Creameries in Kelvington and Canora; and also worked at Hay Lakes, Alberta and Flin Flon, Manitoba.
Muriel married Norman Geck on January 9, 1948. They had one son Grant. Muriel and Norman ran a grain farm and Hereford cattle operation south of Kelvington until their retirement.
Muriel was an active member for many years of the Evening Circle, the Kelvington Agricultural Society, and the Hospital Auxilliary. She was an impeccable housekeeper, an avid gardener, and an amazing cook and baker.
She was predeceased by her husband Norman; parents Sandy and Catherine Donald; sisters and brothers-in-law Rena (Herb) Bien, Wilma (Nels) Lovdahl, Jean (Ian) Brownlee; brothers Ken and Stuart Donald; brother-in-law Jim (Bertha) Geck, sisters-in-law Ruby (Pete) Olsen and Lena (Bob) Graham. She is survived by one sister-in-law Irene Donald and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
