With great anguish, we announce the sudden passing of Richard Gryba, an incredible husband, father, barber, farmer, and friend. Richard's unexpected departure leaves a void in our hearts that can never be filled.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shannon Gryba, and their cherished sons, Jarod Gryba and Brendan Gryba. He also leaves behind his mother, Bertha Gryba, and his brothers, Phillip (Kathy) and Wade (Jackie). He will be deeply missed by his numerous nieces and nephews. Richard was predeceased by his father, Edward Gryba.
Richard had an insatiable curiosity and a remarkable ability to fix anything. His passions were diverse and included fishing, history, steam engines, auctions sales, knife sharpening, and indulging in perogies, cabbage rolls, and especially something sweet from Val.
One of Richard's greatest pleasures was walking out on his farm in Vellardeville, where he delighted in feeding the deer, marmots, and porcupines. Above all, Richard loved his family deeply and took exceptional care of them. His work as a barber and farmer brought him joy until the very end, and he was happily cultivating on his tractor just a week before being hospitalized.
Richard's life was filled with love and vitality, and he had so much more left to give-- he was taken much too soon. His passing has left a deep void in our hearts. We are grateful to our friends and family who have rallied around us during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Richard. You will be forever missed, Your love, energy, and kindness will remain with us forever.
