Robert Henry Halbach of Wadena, SK passed away on June 6, 2019 in Wadena, SK at the age of 105 years.
Robert was born on July 8, 1913 to Henry and Sarah (nee Walters) in Annaheim, SK. He married Mildred Galey on October 27, 1940 in Hazel Dell, SK. Robert and Mildred raised five children and one foster child, Frankie.
Robert farmed in the Lintlaw area and at the same time operated a grader in Esterhazy. In 1978 he moved to the Paswegin district and continued farming. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and was an elder in the Hazel Dell church. He was always concerned about others and wanted others to be reassured of where they would spend eternity. He enjoyed hunting, trapping, fishing, attending fairs and sports days in various communities, playing pool at the senior’s centre and most of all, travelling about. He also enjoyed visiting and music (with violin being his favorite). He was fascinated with motorcycles. The photo on the back of this program was taken at the age of 95 at Schraders Honda in Yorkton.
Robert is survived by his daughters Esther Blair of Langenburg, SK, Sharon Buller of Mississauga, ON and Carol McWilliams of Moose Jaw, SK; sons Clifford Halbach of Esterhazy, SK and Gordon Halbach of Paswegin, SK; brother Carl (Cora) Halbach of Saskatoon, SK and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Mildred, foster child Frankie, friend Aganetha Schlacht; sisters Irene, Barbara and Lyla; brothers Leonard and George and parents Henry and Sarah Halbach.
