Ronald William Ditter was born to Raymond and Lillian Ditter on January 28, 1937, in a hospital in Kelvington, SK. He had one sister, Gloria (Ditter) Molnar.
Growing up, Ron attended Farmingdale School. In his younger years, he worked on the family farm. At home, he began dating Frances Upton at the age of 26, and they married on June 8, 1963. They had four children: Iris, born in 1964; Mona, born in 1965; Jason, born in 1976; and Charles, born in 1988. During the years, Ron worked for Lynn Swartz on the farm for approximately five years. After that, he worked with Ronnie Wagner until he retired. Ron took over the Ditter family farm and purchased the Upton family farm.
In the early 1990s, after Ron retired, they moved to town. Ron and Fran purchased Fran’s dream house in Kelvington and turned it into a tea house. Fran had a successful catering business, and Ron helped with loading and unloading for functions, driving Fran to and from locations, and more. They took great pride in this place, investing countless hours in cooking meals, baking fresh pies, and volunteering for the community, including Santa Days. They also provided meals on wheels for the senior community for many years.
Ron and Fran stayed in Kelvington until their final years. Fran passed away in 2019. Following her passing, Ron moved to Kelvindell Lodge for his remaining years. Ron loved holidays and spending time with his children, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
