Roy Finnie passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at the age of 77 years. Roy spent many years farming in the Kelvington/Lintlaw area in Saskatchewan. Later in life, Roy had a variety of jobs including hotel management, long haul trucking, and water hauling. He loved all things country. Cowboy hats, cowboy boots, country music and a good country bar. Roy is survived by his sister Merle (Fred) of Kuroki Saskatchewan; his first wife Ida of Desert Hot Springs California; his children Shaun (Selme) Finnie of The Woodlands Texas; Shivaun (Paul) Miele of Calgary Alberta; and Corey (Virginia) of Murietta California; grandchildren Joel, Caitlin, Brandon, Bridget, Shannon, Bobby, Megan, Ben, Aidan, Amera, Janalyn and McKenna; his second wife Elaine of Busby Alberta and his third wife Alice. He is predeceased by his parents Alf and Annie Finnie; his brother Donald Finnie; and his granddaughter Kaleigh Finnie. A Celebration of Roy's Life will be held at Tompkins Funeral home in Wadena, Saskatchewan on Sunday July 5 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in Roy's memory may donate to www.dbsalliance.org/goto/Kaleigh_Finnie. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the Clifton Manor Nursing Home in Calgary, Alberta. Roy called the Clifton Manor his home for the final five years of his life. He loved the staff and they loved him. Roy will be missed by all those who knew him.
