Sharon Prisiak

June 1, 1948 — June 26, 2017

Sharon Jean (Dimond) Prisiak was born on June 1, 1948, to Wilfred and Louise in Lestock, Saskatchewan. She was the eldest of two children.

Sharon grew up on the family farm eight miles south of Raymore. She attended the University of Regina and graduated with a teaching certificate; she taught in Kelliher, Lestock, Wishart and Kawacatoose.

In 1969, Sharon married Lawrence, the love of her life, and they were married for 47 blissful years. In 1972, Sharon and Lawrence moved to the family farm in Wishart. This is where they raised their three children, Mark, Stacey and Deana. While at home with the children, Sharon continued to substitute teach. Sharon was a mentor and actively involved in her children’s lives. She was proud that all her children convocated from university, married wonderful spouses and gave her beautiful grandchildren. She loved being with her family and loved that her sons lived close by, as this gave her the opportunity to develop a close relationship with her daughters-in-law, Sharolyn and Trina. Sharon also enjoyed her many trips to Alberta to visit Deana and Len. Starting in 1999, when Sharon became a grandma for the first time, until Sharon’s last day, her grandchildren, Nathan (17), Cierra (16), Derrik (12), Rhett (11), Kiefer (9), Blake (7), Taya (11) and Thayne (8) were her delight; and she had so much love for each one of them!

Sharon enjoyed the peaceful and quiet moments the farm provided, which allowed her time to be creative through quilting and sewing. She was an avid gardener and took pride in maintaining a beautifully landscaped yard. She also enjoyed visiting with friends over tea and coffee, curling, bowling, traveling, reading, building puzzles, sudoku, playing cards and word searches. Sharon was an active member of the community, involved in Parish Council, Seniors’ Welcome Inn, Lestock Ladies Hospital Auxiliary, Legion, Stone Church Restoration Committee and Foam Lake Quilting Club.

Sharon passed away peacefully on June 26, 2017, in the ICU at the Regina Pasqua Hospital after a brief battle with cancer, while surrounded and comforted by her family.

She was predeceased by her parents, Louise (Wulff) and Wilfred Dimond; and her brother Mervin.

Sharon, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure by your husband Lawrence and three children, Mark (Sharolyn), Stacey (Trina) and Deana (Len) Wasyluk and eight beautiful grandchildren; brother-in-law John (Edith) Prisiak; sisters-in-law, Margaret Kowalski and Bernie Senio; niece Jenine Chamberlin and nephew Troy Dimond (Merv’s children); and by many other nephews, nieces and cousins
