Shirley Wright

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Gramma, Great Gramma, Sister, Aunt, and Friend, Shirley Eva Wright, on May 10th, 2022, at the age of 88 yrs.

Shirley Eva Mayes was born in Toronto, ON. on November 27, 1933. She married Albert in 1954 and the couple had 7 children.   They lived many places, from Sept Ille, Quebec to Whiterock, BC, but finally settled in Winnipeg in 1967.  Unfortunately, Albert passed away suddenly in 1971, leaving her a single mother of 6 children.

Shirley worked hard and raised her family, until she met Jim Wright in 2002.  They wed in 2003, and Jim and Shirley then made the decision to sell everything, and move to Kelvington, SK.  This is where Shirley really blossomed as an artist.   She loved to share her talents with those in her community. Shirley was very generous with her time and her many talents. She gave freely of her laughter and love.   Often, she would donate many pieces of her art to raise funds for various local charities in the Kelvington area.

Shirley leaves behind 6 children, 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many other children that she collected along the way, that she could mother. She is predeceased by her son Jason, husbands Albert Bruce and James Wright, and her Parents Arthur and Hilda Mayes.
