Stanley Norman Christianson was born to Soren and Anna Christianson on September 29, 1917, in Marmarth, North Dakota.Stanley was one year old when he moved with his parents to Saskatchewan and they homesteaded on the family farm east of Naicam. He was the eldest of three boys. His brothers were Gordon and Kenneth. He started his education at a country school, followed by home school and later attended high school in Naicam.Stanley became a Christian in his teens and attended Bethel Bible Institute in Saskatoon for 18 months. He was called into the Army where he spent the next two years.He returned to the farm and began his farming career alongside his parents. He played a very active role in the Pentecostal church, serving as a Sunday School Teacher, a Board Member and any other acts of service that he could. He was also very instrumental in the building of the present church in Naicam.In 1946 he married Edith Parker of Naicam and they lived on the family farm and continued the farming life that they both loved. They operated a grain farm and had livestock. Stanley was a very skilled man with many talents, such as mechanics and carpentry; and, in his later years, he enjoyed having a huge garden. They were blessed with a daughter, Grace, in 1957 and a son, Lorne, in 1959.Stanley and Edith lived on the family farm for 67 years and had a wonderful life filled with many precious memories. For the past 5 years, he resided at the Quill Plains Centennial Lodge. They were married for 72 years and had an amazing life together…putting God and family first in everything they did.He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on August 9, 2018.Stanley was predeceased by his parents, Soren and Anna; brother Kenneth (Dorothy); brother Gordon (Doreen); parents-in-law, Jenny and Ernie Parker; sister-in-law Mary Pendelton; and brothers-in-law, Andy, Earl and Tom Parker.Stanley leaves to mourn his wife Edith; daughter Grace (George); son Lorne; granddaughters, Michelle, Raquel (Cody) and Kimberly (Matt); great- grandchildren, Soren, Sydney, Carter, Keaton, Nathan, Connor; special extended family, Trevor, Bev, Brad, Kim, Josh and Rylan; as well as many nephews, nieces and other extended family.Blessed be his memory.
