On November 19, 2017, in St. Albert, Alberta, the family of Stanley Andrew Pacholik sadly wished him goodbye.
Stanley was born on July 2, 1929, on a farm in the Ponass Lake district of Saskatchewan. He married his lovely wife Elinor Hunt on November 13, 1954, and they had seven wonderful children: Daniel (Geri), Joseph (Gwen), Elizabeth, Felix (Gwenda), Julian, Laverta (Pierre) and Ronald (Josephine). Stanley was also the proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren: Jonathon (Jennifer), Erin (Devon), Angie, Chad (Erica), Kalen (Kezia), Kendall (Ashley), Karissa, Keagan (Keaton), Broc, Chance and Benjamin. Also 10 great-grandchildren: Jackson, Brody, Anaya, Avie, Connor, Kipp, Carson, Alera, Lexia and Boston. He was predeceased by his sister Julia; brother John; parents, Albin and Antonia Pacholik.
At the age of 16, Stanley left the farm and headed east to work in the gold mine. He would come home every spring and on a particularly lovely evening, met Elinor at a local dance. Stanley won her hand even over the distance with the help of his romantic poetry. The couple married in Regina and made several moves before settling west of Nora on his parents’ homestead to raise their family.
Stanley loved being on the farm, trapping, playing cards and woodworking. He created many heirlooms for his family and friends. Stanley will be remembered for his witty sense of humour and how he enjoyed a good debate.
