It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Theresa, a devoted mother, cherished aunt, and a beacon of love and joy to all who knew her. On February 28, 1988, Theresa blessed this world with her presence, bringing joy to all who knew her. Regrettably, we now find ourselves in profound mourning as we grapple with her sudden and untimely passing on June 10, 2023.
Theresa was a woman of unwavering love and affection, particularly when it came to her children, nieces, and nephews. Her heart overflowed with adoration for each and every one of them. Nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with them, taking them to the park, playing ball with them, and creating treasured memories that will forever be etched in their minds and hearts. Theresa's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the nurturing of young souls. Her unbreakable bond with her children and nieces and nephews will continue to blossom in their hearts, reminding them of her unwavering love and the cherished moments they shared together.
Theresa leaves behind a loving family, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She is survived by her beloved children, Aisha Sammy and Elizabeth Sammy, who were the source of endless pride and joy in her life. Her ex-partner, Kyle Sammy, stood by her side for over 15 years, sharing in the joys and challenges of life together.
Among Theresa's siblings, she leaves behind Ryan Taysup and Myron Taysup, with whom she shared a bond of love and support. Her extended family includes cherished aunties, Coreen Taysup, Beverly Taysup, Charlene Okemahwasin, Deborah Okemahwasin, and Rose Mary Squirrel, who provided her with unwavering love and guidance throughout her life.
Theresa's uncles, Roy Taysup, Brian Okemahwasin, and Darcy Okemahwasin, held a special place in her heart, offering their presence and wisdom whenever needed. She was also a treasured daughter-in-law to Kurwin Sammy and Betty-Ann Sammy, and a sister-in-law to Seraphine Sammy, who shared many memorable moments together.
Her numerous nieces and nephews held a dear place in Theresa's heart, and she cherished each and every one of them dearly. Their laughter and presence brought immense joy into her life. Theresa's cousins, including Angel Taysup, Rene Gardypie, Jamel Edmunds, Elisha-ba Edmunds, Kayla Ferrier, Tinisha Ferrier, Tamika Okemahwasin, Freedom Gardypie, Sydney Taysup, Rikki Taysup, Brandon Taysup, and Cameron Taysup, were an integral part of her extended family and shared in her journey.
Theresa's great-grandmothers, Annie Okemahwasin and Eliza Taysup, and great-grandfather, George Taysup, held a special place in her heart, representing the roots and heritage that she cherished. She was also blessed with the love and guidance of her grandparents, Mary Taysup and Oliver Okemahwasin, as well as Olive Squirrel and Angus Tom Squirrel, who nurtured her with care and wisdom.
In this time of mourning, Theresa's family comes together, sharing their grief and treasuring the memories they have of her. Her legacy of love and the profound impact she had on each of their lives will forever be cherished and remembered.
