Tony Lechman was born on December 16, 1935, on the farm by Kelvington to Walter and Rose Lechman. He grew up on the farm with older brother Walter and younger sister Mary. Tony attended Batestown and Nut Lake Schools.
In 1954, Tony found his one and only true love, Evangeline. They married in 1956 and enjoyed raising five children over 56 years before her passing in 2012.
Over the years between driving truck and fixing farm equipment, he enjoyed curling, softball, hockey, and playing cards with his family and friends.
Tony was a man of few words but led by example. He was a patient, gentle and kind man who steered his family from out of the truck-driving lifestyle to the farm where he could spend more time with them.
Tony was predeceased by his wife, Vangy; parents, Walter and Rose; brother Walter; sister Mary; and three infant sons.
He leaves to mourn children, Tom (Mercedes), Lauree (Greg), James (Donna), Lynde (Lee-Ann) and Daniel (Daly); grandsons, Deyland, Jeremiah, Aaron, Dallas, Anthony, Alex and Elijah; granddaughters, Vanessa, Darnelle, Brooklynn, Cienna, Jelena and Sophia; six great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; plus numerous nieces and nephews.
He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
