Bill was born on June 20, 1944, at the Wadena Hospital. He passed away at Wadena Hospital on Friday, March 27, 2015, at the age of 70.
He grew up on the farm in the Fishing Lake district with his parents, Mary and Nick Koval, and his older brothers, Mike and Tony, and younger sister Sally. He took his public schooling at Fishing Lake.
He farmed with his parents on the home place in the Fishing Lake district. After his dad passed away in 1970, Bill farmed with his mother for a short while until they moved to Wadena. They moved to Yorkton where Bill was employed with the City of Yorkton in the Parks Department. He was really proud of the fact that he grew flowers, shrubs, and grass.
Bill continued to work for the city until ill health forced him to retire. Eventually they moved back to Wadena where he lived with his mom until she passed away. Bill continued to live in Wadena, moving to Weneeda Park Lodge due to poor health and eventually moving to long-term care in Wadena Hospital. He really appreciated the excellent care that he received from the caring hospital staff.
Bill was predeceased by his father Nick in 1970; his mother Mary in 2004; his younger sister Sally in 2006; sister-in-law Bernice Koval in 2011, and brother-in-law Ron Thompson in 2012.
Bill is survived by brothers, Mike and Tony; sister-in-law Bev; nieces, Louise Koval, Linda Arneson, Karen (Allan) Carter, Kim (Mark) Noel, and Kristy (Cris) Classen; nephew Rick (Laurie) Koval, and their families. He is also survived by many cousins and many good friends.
