Rett syndrome is a rare, non-inherited genetic neurological disorder that occurs almost exclusively in girls and leads to severe impairments, affecting nearly every aspect of the child’s life: their ability to speak, walk, eat, and even breathe easily. Isla Janzen is a beautiful little girl in our Saskatoon community who lives daily with this condition. Isla will benefit from the use of a new eye gaze device, which she will have access to through her school, but in order to use this device she requires a special arm attachment for her wheelchair. Tompkins Funeral Home is pleased to be able to donate a portion of the cost for this arm. Once Isla gets this, she will be able to talk when she is out and about!
